The exhibition O lidech offers a cross-section of the work of painter Jan Šafránek, a globetrotter and keen observer who, through precise classical painting technique, captures the world with an exceptional and distinctive perspective. In his vivid and carefully considered compositions, he tirelessly records moments of everyday life, from streets to markets, festivities, cafés, bars, and galleries. His paintings depict ordinary as well as absurd situations, always with a gentle, compassionate irony that brings a smile and stimulates the imagination.
The exhibition was created in collaboration between Galerie Gema and the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum.
